In this years USTA's Pro Circuit event there will be a total of 64 qualifying, and 32 main draw professional players, as well as 16 doubles teams. These players come from all around the world, including some University of Iowa Men's Tennis team players.
Iowa City will be the first to host a professional tennis tournament in the state of Iowa since 1978. Iowa, and the United States Tennis Association are extremely excited to bring professional tennis to the state once again.
The Old Capitol Futures will be held from July 14th - 22nd. The tournament will start on the 14th of July with qualifying rounds starting at 10AM. After these rounds are completed the main draw will start on the 17th. The championship matches will take place on the 20th for doubles and 22nd for singles.
The tournament will be held at the University of Iowa's very own Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Facility (HTRC). The building itself is located at 2820 Prairie Meadow Dr. in Iowa City.
$25,000 in Prize Money! Professional players from from across the globe will be competing to take home a portion of the grand total prize money of $25,000. Although they are young, these professionals will have a chance to win big at the Old Capitol Futures.
